 It starts with you. To disrupt oppressive systems, you must first be willing to disrupt yourself (Z.Hammond, 2019).  If you’re not interrupting the cycle of oppression, you’re destined to repeat it. Our job is to assist your organization to remove barriers and provide all stakeholders with opportunities to be successful.  Sometimes those barriers are people.  It is incumbent upon your organization to examine your recruitment, hiring, and retention practices.
